Mitul efectului Greenhouse

Toata lumea a putut sa-l vada pe Al Gore cu Oscarul in mana pentru filmul documentar care explica cum se incalzeste vremea din cauza ... e clar, n-are rost sa repet ce auzim toata ziua la TV si citim in ziare.

Big deal!

Documentary Disputes Greenhouse Effect As A Myth
by Josephine Roque, All Headline News Staff Writer, 5/3/2007

London, England (AHN) - A documentary made by filmmaker Martin Durkin called The Great Global Warming Swindle raises issues that claims that the basis of the popular belief that greenhouse gases causes increased global warming is false according to climate experts. The film cites that although there were increased carbon dioxide emissions after the Second World War, a big drop in global temperatures was found four decades after 1940.
Durkin adds that the debate of global warming being man-made has become so great that other reasons for climate change are not being properly investigated. The film gathers leading scientists that claim that there is little scientific evidence to support the theory.
In the past, the global warming debate has been accompanied by ice core samples taken from Antarctica pointing to how raised CO2 levels have warmed the earth. In the film, an expert in palaeoclimatology from the University of Ottawa, Professor Ian Clark, says that the earth's warmer periods happened 800 years prior to the increased levels of carbon dioxide.
Philip Stott, emeritus professor of biogeography at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, said climate change is too complicated to be attributed to one factor. On the other hand, former editor of New Scientist,Gary Calder, attributes the climate change to clouds and solar activity.
Even the UN report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change published in February was disputed. Professor Paul Reiter, of the Pasteur Institute in Paris, said the report was a "sham" that listed even those scientists who did not agree with the findings.
A malaria expert, Professor Reiter, said his name was omitted from the list only after he warned of legal action against the panel. "That is how they make it seem that all the top scientists are agreed," he said. "It's not true."
'Global Warming Is Lies' Claims Documentary
by Snow Hawk, Stop the ACLU
... Even the co-founder of Greenpeace, Patrick Moore, is shown, claiming African countries should be encouraged to burn more CO2.
Nobody in the documentary defends the greenhouse effect theory, as it claims that climate change is natural, has been occurring for years, and ice falling from glaciers is just the spring break-up and as normal as leaves falling in autumn.
A source at Channel 4 said: "It is essentially a polemic and we are expecting it to cause trouble, but this is the controversial programming that Channel 4 is renowned for."
Controversial director Martin Durkin said: "You can see the problems with the science of global warming, but people just don't believe you – it's taken ten years to get this commissioned.
"I think it will go down in history as the first chapter in a new era of the relationship between scientists and society. Legitimate scientists – people with qualifications – are the bad guys.
"It is a big story that is going to cause controversy.
"It's very rare that a film changes history, but I think this is a turning point and in five years the idea that the greenhouse effect is the main reason behind global warming will be seen as total bollocks. "Al Gore might have won an Oscar for 'An Inconvenient Truth', but the film is very misleading and he has got the relationship between CO2 and climate change the wrong way round."
One major piece of evidence of CO2 causing global warming are ice core samples from Antarctica, which show that for hundreds of years, global warming has been accompanied by higher levels of CO2 in the atmosphere. In 'The Great Global Warming Swindle' Al Gore is shown claiming this proves the theory, but palaeontologist Professor Ian Clark claims in the documentary that it actually shows the opposite.
He has evidence showing that warmer spells in the Earth's history actually came an average of 800 years before the rise in CO2 levels. Prof Clark believes increased levels of CO2 are because the Earth is heating up and not the cause. He says most CO2 in the atmosphere comes from the oceans, which dissolve the gas.
When the temperature increases, more gas is released into the atmosphere and when global temperatures cool, more CO2 is taken in. Because of the immense size of the oceans, he said they take time to catch up with climate trends, and this 'memory effect' is responsible for the lag.

"Gore's carbon footprint may be the size of Godzilla's, but he eases his conscience with "carbon offsets." He buys them from himself. And every time someone else buys them, Big Al gets richer.

Whoda thunk it? Former oilman George Bush, scourge of the environment, lives in a house more eco-friendly than Al Gore, a dwelling that would make Hollywood eco-activist Ed Begley, star of HGTV's "Living With Ed," drool.
........
Say you want to fly your Gulfstream private jet across the country regularly to Hollywood premieres instead of taking a Greyhound bus. You buy a carbon offset, giving money to people who will do something like invest it in windmills and solar panels to "reduce" carbon emissions by an equivalent amount. Your are then declared "carbon neutral" as you continue to pollute.

Speaking of carbon offsets and shell games, guess where Gore buys his carbon offsets? Well, he buys them from a firm call Generation Investment Management LLP, a tax-exempt U.S. 501(c)3 corporation. The chairman and co-founder is Al Gore. In other words, he buys his carbon offsets from himself. Others who buy these offset are really buying stock in Gore's growing business. You, too, can green up his portfolio, if not Earth itself..."

He-he, o stiam...
