"Heshel's Kingdom" by Dan Jacobson
"Shtetl: The History of a Small Town and an Extinguished World" by Eva Hoffman,
exista o fraza care exprima si parerea mea:
"Perhaps, had the Holocaust not happened, 'given time and change, Poles and Jews of the small towns might have found a new accommodation.' 'Perhaps 'the increasing interpenetration of their cultures . . . might have resulted in something unique and rich.' The evidence of this book does not offer much support for such an alternative. But the world would be safer for the time being if we relied less on culture and more on constitutions. We do not need to love or understand someone to treat them decently: we need simply to adhere to laws which demand that we do so."

"Yad Vashem begins with a room: a full-scale model of a middle-class German-Jewish parlour from between the wars. Visitors can look in through the cut-away wall and see shelves of books, a piano, reproductions of high art. A sign explains that German Jews thought that they could become part of the dominant culture by embracing the ideals of Bildung – a belief formed by engagement with art, philosophy and learning – which this room embodies in the way a 17th-century Dutch interior displays order and cleanliness. The exhibit is explicitly meant as a synecdoche for the German Jews’ dangerous assimilationist fantasies; the rest of the spike-like, 180-metre long, obstacle and horror-filled space makes clear the tragedy of their error. "
"Five Germanys I Have Known" by Fritz Stern, iar recenziile sint destul de dure.
Iata o recenzie din London Review of Books,
si o alta recenzie din The American Conservative ...

Mass Jewish grave from WWII found in Ukraine
Remains of thousands of Jews killed by the Nazis found near the site of what was once a concentration camp. ‘It underscores the enormous scope of the Nazis’ plans of annihilation,’ director of the Israel office of the Simon Wiesenthal Center says.

Protocolul l-a scris Eichmann.

EDWIN BLACK - THE HAAVARA AGREEMENT....
MARVIN TOKAYER & MARY SWARTZ - THE FUGU PLAN.....
cum ar fi fost daca japonezii importau totzi evreii germani si europeni si-i cantonau in China ca sa lucreze pentru ei? Devenea Japonia cea mai mare putere mondiala? (Asta era Ideia)
mai multe despre Haavara Agreement:
"Zionist interest in the Transfer Agreement emanated from the aspiration to attract affluent immigrants to Palestine.
The German motivation was threefold: (1) the desire to get rid of Jews; (2) economic interests, such as the promotion of production and creation of new jobs; (3) propaganda considerations aimed at undermining the anti-Nazi boycott in a particularly symbolic place, namely Palestine."
De-atunci s-au petrecut multe, insa disputa dintre evreii zionisti si cei non-zionisti despre meritul acestui "agreement" continua si azi ...
In 1985 a aparut Francis R. Nicosia The Third Reich and the Palestine Question
Could we have stopped Hitler ?
din "The Transfer Agreement: The Dramatic Story of the Pact Between the Third Reich and Jewish Palestine", by Edwin Black (2003).
